Hi! I’m Sofiya, your private math tutor serving Bellevue, Medina, Kirkland, Redmond, Newcastle, and Mercer Island.

About Me

I offer private, in-home math tutoring designed for long-term success. My personalized lessons and homework support help students at every level—from elementary through college—excel in math. I specialize in SAT/ACT prep, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, linear algebra, and more.

I hold a 4.0 GPA degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Georgia State University. Before starting my private practice, I worked as a full-time instructor at a learning center, tutoring 15+ students daily across all K–12 levels. I have extensive experience working with students with ADHD, Dyslexia, and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

I provide flexible scheduling and a nurturing, supportive environment for both struggling and advanced students. My goal is to build long-term relationships with families and support academic growth over years—not just semesters.

Methods

I use evidence-based techniques like active recall, spaced repetition, and chunking to strengthen working memory and build true understanding—not just memorization. These are the same methods I used to succeed in my own academic journey and they’re especially effective for students with learning differences. Each session is structured to reinforce core concepts, improve retention, and boost long-term performance.
